1. Casa de la Libertad (House of Freedom)
Address: Plaza 25 de Mayo, Sucre city center
Opening hours: Approximately Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; weekends, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
This is one of the most important historical places in Bolivia. Bolivia’s Declaration of Independence was signed here in 1825.
2. Parque Cretácico (Cretaceous Park)
Address: Cochabamba Road, about 5 km from the city center, near the FANCESA cement factory
Opening hours: Approximately Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Here you can see the famous dinosaur footprints at Cal Orck’o. It is a great place for families, nature lovers, and anyone interested in dinosaurs.
3. La Recoleta Monastery and Museum
Address: Polanco Street No. 162, La Recoleta neighborhood
Opening hours: Approximately Monday to Friday, 9:00–11:30 a.m. and 2:30–4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00–11:30 a.m.
This historic place has beautiful courtyards, gardens, religious art, and wonderful views of the city.
4. La Recoleta Viewpoint
Address: Plaza Pedro de Anzúrez, La Recoleta neighborhood
Opening hours: Open to the public; daytime and sunset are the best times to visit.
From this viewpoint, you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Sucre and the surrounding mountains.
5 .ASUR Museum of Indigenous Art
Address: Pasaje Iturricha No. 314, near La Recoleta
Opening hours: Approximately Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.–12:15 p.m. and 2:30–6:00 p.m.; Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 2:30–6:00 p.m.
This museum is an excellent place to learn about Bolivia’s Indigenous cultures and traditional textiles.
6. San Felipe Neri Church
Address: Nicolás Ortiz Street No. 165, Sucre city center
Opening hours: Approximately Monday to Saturday, 2:30–5:30 p.m.
The church’s rooftop terrace offers one of the best views of Sucre’s white buildings, churches, and historic rooftops.
7. Sucre Metropolitan Cathedral
Address: Plaza 25 de Mayo, corner of Nicolás Ortiz Street
Opening hours: Approximately Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. and 3:00–6:30 p.m.
This is one of the most important religious and architectural landmarks in Sucre.
8. Museo del Tesoro (Treasure Museum)
Address: Plaza 25 de Mayo No. 59, corner of Arenales Street
🕘Opening hours: Approximately Monday to Sunday, 9:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 3:00–6:30 p.m.
The museum displays minerals, precious stones, jewelry, and exhibits related to Bolivia’s mining history.
9. La Glorieta Castle
Address: La Glorieta area, approximately 5 km south of Sucre
Opening hours: Approximately Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Sunday, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
This unusual and beautiful castle combines several architectural styles. It is connected to the history of the Argandoña family and Bolivia’s former nobility.
10. Simón Bolívar Park
Address: Avenida del Maestro and Pastor Sainz Street, Sucre
Opening hours: Open to the public throughout the day.
This is a pleasant place to walk, relax, enjoy the green areas, and see the park’s famous fountain.
